THE 2026 Season Thread

Postby commish » Thu Apr 23, 2026 12:17 pm

The WWFFL's MyFantasyLeague site has been purchased ($93.11) and is updated and ready to handle our 2026 season.

https://www44.myfantasyleague.com/2026/home/18765

The only information which remains out-of-date is our league schedule which will be generated AFTER the NFL officially posts their schedule sometime in May (in order to best align non-bye weeks with intra-divisional contests). Please review your franchise information to insure your roster has been assigned the correct salary/contract information and draft picks.

2026 Draft Date and Location

Postby commish » Thu Apr 23, 2026 12:19 pm

The 2026 WWFFL Draft/Auction is scheduled for 11am (CDT) on Saturday, August 22nd at the Gelsosomo's Pizzeria Chesterton, 371 Indian Boundary Rd # B, Chesterton, IN 46304

This is a week earlier than we typically have our draft due to a scheduling conflict with the Knights Who Say 'Ni'. If anyone else has an issue they believe will prevent them from being able to participate on 8/22, please notify the league immediately so we can determine an alternative that works for all owners.
Please view the following thread for more details on the Auction Date/Location.

As last season's Toilet Bowl loser, the Osceola Oilers will be responsible for purchasing the first round of drinks for the league this year.

2026 Schedule

Postby commish » Sun May 17, 2026 6:38 pm

The NFL released the upcoming 2026 schedule.

Please be aware of the following issues:

- The NFL has added two Wednesday Night Football games this season.
  • The regular season will open up on Sep 9th with the Seahawks hosting the Patriots.
  • The Thanksgiving Week 12 games will start a day earlier on Nov 25th with the Packers visiting the Rams.
  • This is going to affect our FA processes those weeks. The simplest solution was to add an additional FA period with a Wednesday midnight deadline leading up to those Wednesday games just for players participating in those contests. The drawback is we will then be left with just 24 hours to get in any bids for players participating in the following day's Thursday Night Football matchup (or Friday Night Football per the next point) as the existing Thursday midnight deadline will remain in place.
- Week 12 will also contain a Friday game, Broncos @ Steelers. Just like last season, FA bids for players participating in the Friday game can be entered along with the bids made for TNF (per the previous point we'll only have 24 hours to get our bids placed due to the Wednesday Night game that week).
- Bye weeks start Week 5 and continue on through Week 14 with the sole exception of Week 12 (Thanksgiving Week) which has none.
- Most Bye weeks consist of 2-4 teams with the exception of Week 11 which has SIX teams idle.
- We won't be affected by the late season Saturday games as they fall during our post-season when FA is suspended.
- There are a number of international games that will have a non-traditional early start on Sunday.
  • Week 4 - Colts vs Commanders @ 8:30am
  • Week 5 - Eagles vs Jaguars @ 8:30am
  • Week 6 - Texans vs Jaguars @ 8:30am
  • Week 7 - Steelers vs Saints @ 8:30am
  • Week 9 - Bengals vs Falcons @ 8:30am
  • Week 10 - Patriots vs Lions @ 8:30am

The WWFFL Schedule is Official.

- As we do every season we simply randomize the Weeks from the previous seasons schedule, reverse the Home/Away for inter-Divisional contests and push the intra-Divisional games to the beginning and ending 3 weeks of the season. Please review your individual schedules for accuracy and report any issues you discover.

The 33rd Annual Weekend Warriors Fantasy Football League Auction/Draft

Location details
The league will be trying a new location this year. We're currently scheduled to gather at the End Zone Bar & Grill which should be familiar to at least half the league having grown up in Hobart. We'll be upstairs. We've been told they have Wi-Fi. The majority of Hobart is currently without power due to recent storms but as soon as they get things restored I'd like one of us to check out the table/chair situation as well as access to electrical outlets so we can prepare appropriately.

What do I need to bring with me to the Auction?
--Bring $105 ($100 for league dues and $5 for the 'Perfect Season' fund).
--Bring any drafting/auctioning materials you may need (computers, magazines, tablets, paper, pens, etc, along with any power cords needed by such devices)
--bring the league trophy (John?)

Auction Day Structure

Arrival
-Organize the tables to allow us to sit in a 'circular' pattern and determine seating order.
-Personal setup (setup laptops/tablets, confirm WiFi connections and access to our MFL site).
-Pay league dues.
-The previous seasons Toilet Bowl loser (Oilers) should be getting drink orders from each owner so the bartender can have them all prepared for the start of our Auction.

Recognizing the previous season
-This should serve as the official start of the Auction proceedings.
-All owners should have their drink purchased by the previous seasons Toilet Bowl loser.
-All owners take a seat in their assigned location
-The Toilet Bowl loser offers a toast to the winner of last seasons championship. All owners drink with the Champion.
-The league Trophy is then awarded to the new Champion from the previous Champ. All owners drink with the Champion.
-The Champion is then permitted to offer a speech after which all owners drink with the Champion.

League Business
-Confirm all owners have paid.
-Announce the value of the 'Perfect Season' fund.
-Discuss/clarify any issues resulting from the previous season.
-Discuss/vote on any suggested changes to the rules/structure/format of the league.
-Document any changes resulting from these discussions on this forum so they're not forgotten.

Keepers
-If the owner is keeping any tagged player, this is when they should fill out the slip of paper to be used during the drawing (Player name, Tag type and min salary offer). The owner will deposit the tag in the appropriate pile for drawing later.

Tagged Player Resolution
-This will behave as it always has. Franchise tags are drawn first followed by Transition tags.
-There will be a brief delay in the processing of tagged players to update their salary, but outside of that this should move along fairly smoothly as our owners can just use the Trade feature to send players/picks back and forth.

Rookie Draft
-3 minutes for the 1st rd and 2 minutes for the 2nd and 3rd.
-Draft selections will be entered via the MFL Live Draft Room (For Owners > Live Draft Room)
-Any Trades should be processed via MFL.
-Our rookie salary system is going to require us to determine the rookie salaries AFTER the draft has completed and then manually update their salaries within MFL. Please be patient and expect a 5-15 minute break in the action while this is accomplished.
- Any salary penalties incurred for Invalid Lineups will be applied at this time.

Practice Squad
-Owners will enter their PS assignments via the MFL site (For Owners > Taxi Squad)
-Just like announcing Keepers we'll go owner by owner announcing our PS assignments, starting with the current Champion.
-Owners should state which players are going on the PS and any players that were on the PS last season but are now being activated or released.
-Please be patient and allow all owners to update their sheets/software appropriately before beginning the Auction proper.

Auction
-Just like we've always done it. We'll start with the Champ making the first nomination and work our way through the order.
-Nominations and winning bids will be entered using the MFL Live Auction.
-Select the player and enter your nominating bid amount and click the Nominate button.
-This will cause the player to appear within the other owners Live Auction window where they can enter a bid amount.
-We will perform our bidding aloud, as we always have in the past. Once a winning bid has been established, the owner of the winning bid will enter it into the Live Auction and it will be processed 15 seconds later.
-Any trading can be performed via the MFL site during the Auction.
-IR assignments can also be made at this time.

Fin
-Pay our tab
-Clean the joint up

League Business

Postby commish » Sat Aug 22, 2026 11:11 am

Next season's draft would normally occur on 8/28 but Zack is getting married that day. We settled on having the 2027 draft on Saturday of Labor Day weekend, 9/4. No objections.

Mitch suggested changing the Def scoring to eliminate defensive scores from counting against your defensive team. Seconded and PASSED 11-1.

Jason suggested changing the IR rules to force franchises to activate IR players before the end of the season. Seconded and FAILED 3-9.

Draft/Auction wrap-up

Postby commish » Tue Aug 25, 2026 12:10 pm

Congratulations on another successful Draft. I felt things went rather smoothly and appreciate your professionalism during the most chaotic event of the season. Thank you all.

Just to wrap up the final Draft Day minutiae...

The Can't Cut List has been enabled.

The Defensive Scoring Rules have been modified from Total Points Allowed to Special Teams Points Against plus Offensive Points Against.

Lastly, the Plaxidental Shooting and River City Rampage still have a $10 penalty to their next 1st Rd pick as they had no 1st Rd selections this season.

Best of luck to everyone.
