at least kerry went to vietnam, bush and his rich family kept him far and safe, unlike his own father who did fly in combat, w. was flying high on something else and washing it down with jim beam..but i mean hey, i've made some poor choices myself, i believe in second chances and reborn again, but ohio loses over 200,000 manufaturing jobs and the hispanics in florida are backing bush...what the hell is going on out there?? where was the 18 to 24 vote?? i'm glad my time is up and i'm too old, THERE WILL BE A DRAFT...bank on it!! no one is volunteering, the numbers are way down...i volunteered myself in 89 and if this shit was going on would i have still?? nope!!..i was recalled to active duty and did what i signed up to do...but given the choice, hell no...not for this lie...though in 91 if kuwait was the biggest exporter on bannana's and not oil rich and our allie do you think we'd have still gone to war?? another big oil bush lie there too..senoir knew when to quit, sadaam was a prisoner in his own country and the sanctions were working..invasion was not needed!! no0 wmd's ..    keep us safe, whatever, i think in the next year were gonna get hit big again..we had a chance in the beginning to get bin laden and his network, yet we stopped short so bush could wrongly go after sadaam now truely giving those a home and now al-quieda has morphed much like a virus...it's now a franchise operation..just like mcdonalds still serves billions and billions without ray kroc at the helm, al-quieda wont need bin laden or his money..

There will never be a draft. The party responsible for reinstating a draft will be signing it's own death warrant.

Come to think of it, it may not matter. The only people who vote are old people. They won't have to fight and it'll be making them feel secure (statistically they are the richest and have the most to lose to "terrorism").

pretty extreme stuff but helps keep an open mind to fend off mainstream media. enjoy!!

and seeing how most of us here are preaching to the choir, it sure would be nice to take this passion and KNOWLEDGE to those who need to hear it or read it.

Wow, lots of activity here while I've been busy.

re: Terror War

We've lost. We've lost because we have sacrificed our integrity and because we have failed to learn from history.

Look at the IRA. Britain lost its war on terror because you can't defeat an idea, namely Irish independence. The only way to win a war against an idea is to eradicate all who hold to that idea. And you don't change minds by creating martyrs.

Look at the Zionists. They're the ones who taught the modern world how to conduct a terrorist war and now they run a country of their own with an undeclared nuclear arsenal and perhaps the best equipped military in the Middle East.

Look at any terrorist movement and beneath it you will find an idea. Ideas win, and a gun is not an idea.

Chairman Mao said political power flows from the barrel of a rifle. In a revolution his logic works. But, in a terrorists activity, and any response to it, guns are meaningless. They are not revolutions and they are not politically motivated.

All paths lead to the same end. Sometimes the paths are rockier than at other times. And we will tolerate the discomfort of the rockier paths...for a while. Apparently, we need pain right now. Apparently, we need to invite troubles in because through self-flagellation we can feel that we have attained some sense of moral purity. Even more disturbing to me is that while so many are upset about Bush's victory, I believe that the path we are going to walk has already been determined and whoever became president would likely deal with that journey in the same way his counterpart would have.

Anyway, enough late night ramblings. I'm going to get back to putting my books in safe places and hiding my stories before the God Squad comes to burn them. And I guess I should find a wife just in case my morality comes into question. Ugghh!!

I know that this isn't the precise point that you were trying to make, but it is related. One of the major problems with the two-party system in the United States is the fact that the two parties are so similar. On a global/historical spectrum, both the Democrats and Republicans are squarely together in the middle. It would be nice to have some real choices-- Labor Party anyone (just kidding, sort of)?

I have an idea for two new parties,

Republicrats and Demlicans... oh wait

I can see it now... Jim, John, and Jason all at a rally speaking their thoughts and sharing their knowlegde and then we flash to the evening news and all we get are the young hippies stating Peace, Love, and Not War!! Making a mockery of it all.

You guys really know your stuff and it makes me want to know more and become active. You all are and should be an inspiration to others and besides this board, I hope and wish that you all could be activists in some way shape or form. I for one will be making efforts to do what I can, no matter how futile it may seem to be. In the right way, it is our country that allows us to express ourselves in this way. More of us just need to take advantage of that and then just hope our houses do not get burned down to the ground.

That's why I voted for Nader in '96 and '00. One of the only benefits of living in Republican-dominated Indiana is that I can afford to make these statement votes, because it wouldn't matter anyways.

Yep. We have no chance of winning it.

Our conventional military tactics vs. terrorism is like trying to kill a fly in your house with a 12 lb. sledgehammer, while the ASPCA, PETA, and The American Institute for the Protection of Insects monitors your every move - fingers hovering over their cellphone's "send" button with the lawyers waiting on the other end.
