My daughter had to miss X-mas eve with the family because she had come down with what appeared to be some sort of stomach flu (vomiting, fever). This lasted for about 2-3 days. About a week later, my son came down with the same symptoms which also lasted about 2-3 days. On the 3rd day he complained his right ear hurt (this is important when it's a 2 year old telling you this). It was a Sunday and we didn't get him into the Dr's until Mon, Jan 7th. By then, he was no longer complaining and seemed to be feeling much better. The Dr did diagnose him with an ear infection and put him on antibiotics. The very day we took him to the Dr's, my wife came home early from work because she was feverish and had a sore throat. That night, I also came down with a mild fever. The wife and I were both wiped out on Tuesday with swollen tonsils. We drug our miserable selves to the Dr's on Wed and were both diagnosed with strep throat and put on antibiotics. It wasn't until Friday either of us felt "human" again. So now my son, myself and my wife are all on antibiotics.
My daughter is now terribly congested and appears to have contracted a sinus infection. I'm giving good odds we'll have her on antibiotics soon.
Is it just us or is anyone else getting hit with this bug? It's definitely affecting this American families productivity so far for 2008.
I hope you're all well,
J
