FIXED-Reports Problems

****The reports problems should be resolved as of 9/24*****
Well, I know I've seen this behavior and John recently pointed out he's had the same problem.
You click on a link for a report and you get a screen like this...
You'll notice the little square in the upper left hand corner where your report SHOULD appear...that's your report. For some reason the frame it's supposed to show up in isn't resizing properly. I have not been able to recreate this problem with any consistency, however, but I'm still working on it.
In the meantime, you simply right-click on the little square in the upper left hand corner and then choose "Refresh" and that should show you a compressed version of the report (it still won't resize correctly).
Please let me know if you notice any patterns to this problem as it will help me in troubleshooting the problem (what operating system you're running Win98, Win2K, WinXP, etc as well as what browser you're using).
Thanks,
Admin

Seems hit-or-miss for me. I'll get that little dot, refresh a couple times and it'll show. I don't see any pattern.

Bump - still a concern for me with no rhyme or reason...
but the right click>refresh does offer an immediate fix... although sometimes I have to do that a couple of times.

I wasn't sure which topic to post this under, but I have been unable to access any of the reports for the first two weeks. I have read the posts about the small square, but I am not even getting that far. I am clicking on the certain reports and they are just simply not responding. I am able to access the schedule, but unable to access weekly and seasonal reports, franchise pages, and league stats. I really miss all the statistics, and it helps with analysis. I feel blind without these resources. Please let me know if anyone knows how to fix this problem.

I just read that Clay was having the same problem. I am going to try and download the FFLM file, but if you have any other suggestions...

I can't get any of the stuff with either IE or Safari, but Netscape works like a charm. I'm puzzled at the tempermentalness of browsers; so much for a free and competitive market.

have to be a pain, but are you sure you do not see the square? Please double check...
What do you see if you do not see the square? When you say there is no response, is that what really happens? For example, "I log in and I am at the page that shows the scores and news and forums. When I click on one of the report links, the screen does nothing. I still see exactly what I was looking at." OR, "... when I click on a report, the screen goes blank except for the stuff on the left, and I do not see the little square either."
Try to be as descriptive as possible to the steps you are taking and what you see or don't see along the way. If you know how to do screen captures and paste them in here, that would be good. This will help troubleshoot the problem.

Jason - any update on these reports problems. Any suggestions. I plan on just sending the reports old school via e-mail. I hate to enable the old school ways but I don't know what else to do.

Good idea with emailing the reports, Mitch. Once the initial setup in FLM is taken care of, it will only take a few minutes each week. I am sure that this will be taken care of soon. J is the shiznizzle at this stuff...

I am bored. ISTEP this week = me reading instructions to the kids, and then basically waiting for them to get done. Lots of free/boring time to waste this week. In the mornings, anyway. By afternoon, all of my ADHD kids who have been sitting quietly taking the test for 4-5 hours are pretty stir-crazy...

Ok, it sounds like there are two different problems.
The issue with the reports has me baffled. I'm still unable to determine why they show up sometimes but not others. I'm going to try a different approach to displaying our reports, but it's going to take me some time to update all the links. I'll work on having this corrected by Monday night so the week 3 reports display correctly.
Now the problem reported by Tom and Clay sounds different. It sounds as if the links directly available via the menu are accessible (Tom reports being able to get to the Schedule), but those links available only through one of the "pop-out" menu aren't working. Is that correct? Does the "pop-out" menu even appear? Do you see the sub-menus for the various Weekly Reports, Season Reports, Franchise Pages, etc? If you hover hover over the link, does the URL appear in your Status Bar at the bottom of your browser (you can enable this by going to View - Status Bar)?
You may also wish to delete your browser cookies to see if that has any effect (Tools - Internet Options - Delete Cookies...). If you just want to delete the cookie for this site, search for cookie:<username>@www.wwffl.org/ and delete that file. It will get recreated next time you log into the site.
I think there may be an update to the scripts that control that menu so I'll look into updating those as well.
Again, the more details you can provide about the problem (browser make and version, operating system, etc) the better.
Let me know if anyone else is having these problems or any other issues with the site.

Ok, we've just officially upgraded from Dynamenu 1.01 to 1.05. Doesn't look any different to me but that's a good thing since it had been working for me in the past.
Tom, Clay, Jim - let me know if you continue to have problems with the Menus.
Again, I hope to have the report issue ironed out by Monday night.

I couldn't bear the thought of someone not having access to reports (plus it was bugging the hell out of me, too), so we went ahead and loaded a different "module" to render our reports. The reports size issue appears resolved on my end (the reports always appear correctly now), let me know if you continue to face any problems.
Thank you,
