Finally WWFFL Superbowl

Postby cavemen » Mon Dec 26, 2005 10:59 am

Well boys, after a long and painful drought it is a great feeling to make the WWFFL Superbowl. It looks as though I will be playing my arch enemy Mr. Topping and the evil empire of the Oilers. I hope I can count on your support as I try to put an end to the the greedy and sinsiter playing of "The dark lord and his evil Oil Empire". As to my fellow division champion Rampage I was rooting for you Ray but unfortuantely looks like you had the same bad luck I did in the regualr season (definiately wasn't skill of coaching by the Oilers) and lost because of a last minute interception by the Bears Defense in the closing seconds.
I hope to see you all tonight at the End Zone for the last Monday night football game of the season (and the last ever on ABC)!

Scott---the line has been drawn in the sand and I want you to know that I am going to try and make sure 2006 is going to start out a really bad year for the Oilers!

I feel fortunate just to have made it to the championship game, given the teams in my bracket and that 4 members of my starting lineup didn't finish their game (Anderson, Troupe, Smith, and Palmer)

The matchups and momentum are both in favor of the Cavemen. The starting lineup for the Caveman is a no - brainer. It seems like a real long-shot for the Oilers to finish within 20-30 points. The only real weakness on his team is at WR #2 with an always inconsistent J. Smith.

Wait - I'm having a flashback. Isn't this nearly the exact scenario that ended in one of the greatest WWFFL upsets of all time? The play-in game to the Super Bowl during John's "greatest team ever" season looked a lot like this one. Substitute Priest for LJ.

The Caveman have hardly won enough to be considered rivals of the Oilers, but I will certainly understand John's venom once history repeats itself on Jan 1.

Well, there'll be no love lost after this game - that's for sure.

I have to pull for the Oliers but can't see how they can possibly beat the Cavemen. I knew when I saw my second round matchup I could be in trouble as the Cavemen were the only team I was concerned about of the 3 remaining.

Congratulations John and Scott.

As much as it pains me to admit it, I'll be pulling for the Oilers as well for the following reasons...
1) It'll keep the trophy in the Red Division, thus maintaining our superiority.
2) As Craw pointed out, it'll keep the total number of league champions the same providing more "exclusivity" to that honor.
3) It would make it even sweeter for the Hammers to take the trophy back from the Oilers next season.

The Cavemen currently have the horses to get the job done, but the Oilers just know how to win. Everything is leaning the Cavemens way this time of season, but they've got a reputation of failing in the big games. I look for the Oilers good fortune to extend one more game granting them their 4th Championship.

Good luck to both of you,

J

Pfffffffffffffffffffffffftttttt. If that's your attempt at "bait", you can keep it.

The Blue Division placed all four teams in the top six in scoring. Technically, I was the worst team even though I finished sixth in scoring. I think I even outscored the White Division Champion.

There's no debating which division was the best, though I'm sure you'll try with your own unique, subjective view of the World According to Jason. The numbers don't lie. Beyond that, there's five titles in the Blue Division and six after this week.

No, the truth is that once again I've been relegated to the far-and-away best division in the league. Of course, with my Championship record, it suits me.

John, congratulations on an impressive playoff run and championship! The combination of TIKI and LJ is among the best RB tandems in league history. I can't think of any better.

Congratulations again, John. You had to climb over two Red teams to get the trophy and you did so quite impressively. Enjoy the trophy (I find myself staring longingly at the dust-free spot it used to enjoy on my desk).
The Hammers will be doubling their efforts again next season to regain posession of the Championship so now is not the time to sit on your laurels. Enjoy, but don't get complacent.
